Report on vacancy and status, including applications

The last update for the november release! One more new report type is introduced, the third in this release: "Vacancies - with applications & task history":

The new report type enables reporting on vacancies and vacancy status information information, including applications. Note that this is different from the existing report type "Vacancies - with applications & applications task history", as the last one shows status information from the applications for the vacancy, not status information for the vacancy itself.

A new report type is introduced, "Vacancies - with contacts", enabling reporting on contacts in relation to vacancies:

I leave the rest to your imagination, which should be no problem when we are talking custom reports :-)

Report templates

This new feature for the november release originates from an idea on the (dutch) community Make reports more user friendly; bring date selections to front by @sdejonge (and commented by @neavev).

What they so well describe is that the reporting tool in peoplexs is powerful. You can create almost any report you would need. But flexibility comes with the price of complexity. Not a problem for trained recruiters, they will think it is quite easy, but a step too far for recruiters without training in custom reports.

To make it easy for the last group to use custom reports with a only small set of reporting options, we introduced report templates. A report template is made the same way as a regular report. So all the options you would have in a report are also available in a report template. The difference is that the report template can still be changed when distributed to your collegue recruiters. When they run the report from the report template they only see a few options that can be changed. All other options stay hidden.

Here is how you do it. When you want to distribute a report to your collegues, choose "Save as..." in the report wizard, and mark the option "Save as template":

The report is now available for your collegues (basic permissions and folder access rights still apply). When they choose "Run" they will have some extra options:

They can change the reporting dates, if archived information should be in- or excluded, and in which format it should be displayed.

Reporting templates have the additional advantage for enterprise customers that templates make is easier to setup reports for countries or divisions. When run by the recruiter, only data from his/her own team is included. Where before 50 countries ment 50 reports, it can now be done with one template.

Try it out on our Labs server. Enjoy!
