Hi schulz,
This is possible. In workflow setup, there's a Reminder tab. On this tab, you can specify how many days in advance of the due date or after the due date a reminder e-mail needs to be sent to the user. This can be done per task. There are two reserved e-mail templates which can be sent (Used for: Before Reminder and After Reminder).
In the future, we will also extend the possibilities in sending different templates to different task/locations.
