SECURITY - restricting specific users from downloading or printing the whole database
to rate this post.
Currently there is no way to stop an employee from printing or downloading the majority of the database and this worries me a lot.
An option would be to be able to control who has PRINT or DOWNLOAD access. In a paperless office consultants shouldn't really need to print contact details. The only time when it would be useful is to print procedure history to client meetings and this can be done ad hoc by an administrator with the necessary access.
This is especially important for agencies or headhunting firms that use PeopleXS. Where consultants move from company to company. I know it is our role to hire people that have integrity but I live in the real world and this is something that will happen and that I have seen happen.
In the importance of PROTECTING YOUR CURRENT & FUTURE BUSINESS, please vote for this action.
Comments
As a corporate user, this is not such an area of interest.
Our internal security teams may be interested to see reports on downloads or prints to view any abnormal activity, but no priority for this as it is something that is inherent in our all people systems and covered by our privacy and data protection laws and policies and code of conduct operated by all our recruiters.

You got my vote, but I can see you forgot to vote for your own idea :-)
It is unfortunately the world we are living in. We can help restricting access to print (and through print to download). We cannot make it impossible to still print and download individual "screens", thats the nature of the web. But we can restrict access to options like reports and filters that when printed, list basic candidate information. Although it is not yet possible to download CVs all at once this will probably change as it is a feature request which has a lot of interest on the community. This one you probably also would like to restrict access to when it comes available.
On another note, we also have an obligation to the candidate here. Try to create a bond with your candidates as much as possible. Take care that privacy laws are implemented in your setup, and inform your candidates you do so. Let them know you take there privacy serious and inform them what to do if they would feel their information is abused. That will make it more likely they will contact you when it occurs, and you can take the appropiate action against the culprit. In the end, making it a policy also will attract the right employees.
Looking forward to see how your idea will be voted on by headhunter colleagues.
