Upcoming technical infrastructure upgrade

After many months and lot's of hard work, the PeopleXS IT Department is excited to announce that the entire technical infrastructure will be upgraded soon. How soon? The date will be announced within a couple of weeks!

What's in the upgrade, you ask?

  • New top-of-the-line, faster servers
  • Upgraded server operating system
  • Upgraded Enterprise Application software
  • Upgraded Enterprise Database software
  • Upgraded web servers
  • Added more Application servers
  • New and improved infrastructure monitoring
  • Automatic Performance Correction - if something starts to get slow or shut down, in most cases the Application will know about it and heal itself

So? How does this affect me while I work in PeopleXS day-to-day?

  • Speed, speed, and more speed. We expect a minimum of a 20% speed increase system-wide, and some operations will be even faster. We want you to be able to get more work done in less time.
  • Fewer errors. Hopefully, you haven't ever received an error while using PeopleXS, have you? Well.... just in case (wink), the new upgrades should reduce errors, and allow the IT Department to fix them more quickly.
  • With additional and improved monitoring, PeopleXS will know there are problems with the system long before you even have to report them.
  • Even if PeopleXS usage doubles or triples in the next year or two, the system should behave normally and you will not experience any drop-off in performance or otherwise.
  • One note of warning: with such a large infrastructure upgrade, there is a small possibility that there could be some temporary problems or errors within the first few days; however, we have spent tireless hours and resources testing and re-testing the new system to minimize the possibility of problems.
  • With the new Automatic Performance Correction capabilities, the possibility of the system being down has been greatly reduced.

We'll submit another blog entry after the launch of the new system. But for now, just know that we're working hard to make your PeopleXS system better all the time.
